The rockstars at Rocky Mountain Competitive Research are at it again. This time, they took their customer Dustin’s Lysholm Supercharged Camaro SS and cranked it up to an amazingly impressive 621 rear wheel horsepower and 622 rear wheel torque!
This same Lysholm 2.3L Twin-Screw Supercharged Camaro that drew lots of attention in the Vortech/Lysholm/R.M.C.R. booth at Camaro5Fest II, is now breathing a lot more fire thanks to the addition of an R.M.C.R. Custom Grind Camshaft, 3.00″ Supercharger Pulley, ARH 1 7/8″ Long Tube Headers, a Borla Attak Exhaust, and custom tuning from R.M.C.R.Already happy with the performance of his S/C’d SS, now Dustin is ecstatic about his new and improved beast. “This car is a whole different animal now!”
Want to transform your new SS into a street bruiser or a sinister sleeper? Maybe it’s time to give Lysholm Twin-Screw Superchargers a try.
Vortech ventured out to Firebird International Raceway in Arizona for the 2nd Annual gathering of 5th generation Camaros, dubbed Camaro5Fest II. Joining forces with Rocky Mountain Competitive Research, our Top Tier Dealer/Installer from Colorado Springs, CO, we hit the track in good spirits ready for a good time…and the C5 crew did not disappoint!
RMCR put together this sick Vortech Centrifugal System on a display engine to really give the crowd a good look at what the kit looks like up close & personal. It helped to show how the Vortech intercooler is over twice the size of what the competitors use.
R.M.C.R. customer Dustin had his Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharging System installed just in time for Camaro5Fest. He couldn’t stop talking about how happy he was with his choice. The Lysholm System is a great choice for all gen. 5 Camaro owners who want to go the positive displacement route!.The 530rwhp and 516rwtq this 2.3L Twin-Screw Supercharger made on an otherwise virtually stock Camaro SS puts many of the other competitor’s offerings out there to shame!Gary Shellum, or 1RADCAMARO on Camaro5, had his gorgeous Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharged SS Camaro all over the show! We saw it on the track, on display, in the Air Lift booth, in the US Wheels booth, and all over the place! Thanks for coming out and representing Gary!.
This stock looking SS is what you would call a SLEEPER. While unassuming on the outside, this beast sports an R.M.C.R. built LSX 427 engine with Callies internals, Diamond Pistons, cnc ported heads, custom camshaft, FAST 102mm intake manifold, Nick Williams 102mm throttle body, Katech carbon valve covers, Stainless Works 2″ Headers and 3″ exhaust, Fore Precision triple 255lph pump setup, BMR subframes, sway bars, trailing arms, toe rods, strut tower brace, KW coilovers, AP Racing J-hook brake rotors, a DSS 9″ rearend conversion with Moser aluminum center section, and to top it all off…a cog-driven Vortech V-7 YSi-Trim Supercharging System. Although the guys from R.M.C.R. didn’t quite finish tuning it before they had to leave for the event, it still wore a dyno sheet showing it put down over 919rwhp through its heavy duty 9″ rear end. That’s nearly 1,100 horsepower at the crank! Also in the sleeper department, this 700+ horsepower Tahoe was in the Vortech/R.M.C.R booth showing more of what the R.M.C.R. guys do best – make things really fast! Sporting a built engine and a Vortech V-7 YSi-Trim Supercharger and Air-to-Water Power Cooler, the owner claims he built it to destroy Porsche Cayenne Turbos. When asked how this unassuming silver SUV does in that endeavor, he simply replied “It works!”.The famous Guillermo Garcia, or Tribone as he is known as on Camaro5, brought out his Vortech V-3 Supercharged black beauty, and had it displayed prominently in the US Wheels booth. Running himself ragged as one of the event organizers, we saw him hurriedly speeding here and there throughout the entire event. Hope you had some time to relax once it was all over, G!Dave Christensen (d69chris) and his customized Inferno Orange Metallic SS took full advantage of the show. When he wasn’t racing the car on the track, Dave was showing off his V-3 Si-Trim Supercharged ride in the SoCal section of the car show area. We hear Dave also won the prize for “best exterior”. Great job Dave, but you know us…we are usually more partial to what you’ve got under the hood..
We found Andrew M’s (shevyman) Vortech Supercharged Hot Wheels Camaro sittin’ low in the Air Lift Booth. From the looks of it, he hadn’t anticipated us asking to lift the hood for photos. C’mon Andrew…it’s a CAR SHOW. You can’t just clean the outside of your car! Here are some other great pictures from the event for you to enjoy.
Although not Supercharged, this tribute Camaro was definitely worth checking out. Not only does it honor our country, but the amount of hours in airbrushing alone this must have taken is truly amazing!
Thank you to Camaro5, R.M.C.R., Tribone, d69chris, 1RADCAMARO, shevyman, Mike, Mark, Zack, Keith, Don, Colin, Dustin, and everyone else in attendance. We’ll see you next year!
James Smith, or “Smitty” as he is more commonly known, and his shop STS808 in Kapolei, Hawaii built this 2011 4.8L Silverado LS to show off some of the many things they can do. Although still a work in progress, this bagged and Supercharged ride may be just the thing to go rolling around paradise in style.
Under the hood, the most prominent addition to the factory 4.8L Chevy engine is definitely the Lysholm 2300AX Supercharging System. Along with the boost, Smitty added a Ligenfelter 160° thermostat, NGK TR6 spark plugs, and a set of Spintech mufflers out back. This combination was good for a base tune result of 404RWHP and 400RWTQ! Smitty says a set of long tube headers and a retune are in the truck’s near future for even more power and torque. To get this GM Full Size sitting low, a list of suspension parts were thrown at it, including a Ekstensive front control arm kit with Monroe Sensa Track Corvette shocks, Ekstensive Rear 2-link and notch With Monroe Mono-Tube shocks, 4 – 2600 lb bags, 8 – SMC 1/2″ valves, 2 – SMC Air dryers, 2 – 5 gallon tanks, 2 – VIAR 444 compressors, AVS billet digital gauge, AVS billet switch box, Narrowed 4 inch rear end.
The modifications to the body include a Stylin’ Trucks Rear Rollpan, Carriage Works black billet upper and lower grills, mono-chromed grill and front bumper, shaved tailgate with Sir Michaels handle relocator, Tubbed bed and notch cover, Spray lined bed, an Undercover bed cover, and the truck rolls around on a set of 22″ Intro Radicalli’s for now, with a new set of 24″ Intro Radicalli’s on order.
In the electronics department, Smitty installed 2 Stinger 2250 amp dry cell batteries, Stinger Alternator, Kenwood Excelon DDX 896 head unit, Samsung Slide 7 (for center console will run HPtuner gauges), 2 Galaxy Tabs in the headrests, 3 Phoenix Gold Ti2500 amps, 2 Phoenix Gold Ti 800.4 amps, 4 Phoenix Gold Ti65 component speakers, 6 Phoenix Gold TI212 12″ subs, with a blow through sub enclosure in the bed.

This past weekend the Tjin Edition RoadShow came out in full force at the MotorMavens Mass Appeal / Ken Block Gymkhana Grid Invitational at Irwindale Speedway.
The massive 80×30 Tjin Edition RoadShow booth was set-up at the front of the vendor midway / car show area and had a HUGE presence at the show.
On display in the RoadShow booth were some of the most talked about cars from SEMA, including the aLL STaR Chevy Camaro, the Tjin Edition Chevy Camaro and 5.0L Ford Mustang GT, the UTI Ford Fiesta, and the Fortune Motorsports Honda CR-Z.

The show was a huge success and the team had a great time interacting with fellow car enthusiast, the media, vendors, drivers and spectators alike.
Neil Tjin and crew made a special point to say thank you to each and everyone of thier RoadShow partners, including Air Lift, Royal Purple, Webasto, iForged, Forgestar, Vortech, Paxton, Lysholm, UTI, Baer, Auto Meter, MagnaFlow, StreetGlow, Status Racing, and all the partners that supplied parts for these amazing display vehicles. “We would not have been able to build these display vehicles and put on this incredible RoadShow without our partners support and their outstanding products. We have had an amazing time on the road this year with the RoadShow and we look forward to even bigger and better things in 2011 and beyond.”
GTR High Performance has one of the most loyal customer bases in Southern California, and it is no surprise as to why. Phil From Magnaflow’s Terminator Cobra Makes More Power With Less Boost After Upgrading To Lysholm Twin-Screw Power…
Phil Dore, Product Manager for Magnaflow Exhaust is no stranger to aftermarket products that work. When it came time to buy a project car, Phil knew that a Terminator Cobra would be a great choice to not only use to showcase the great products that his company makes, but also to reach all of his personal horsepower and performance goals. After maxing out the factory Eaton Blower, Phil upgraded his blower to a competitor’s unit in his quest for more power. However, after suffering a blower failure, Phil turned to his friends at Vortech & GTR High Performance to try out their new Lysholm Twin-Screw 3.3L Supercharger Upgrade System.
Hoping to make similar power as his previous system with the potential to go for more at a later date, the new 3.3L Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharger Upgrade System was more than up to the task, capable of supporting 800+ horsepower at over 25psi. After getting the install done at GTR, Phil brought his Terminator to Racer’s Edge Tuning for a custom dyno tune on their 224x Dynojet chassis dyno. Having made a respectable 575/490 at 16.5psi before his Lysholm upgrade, Phil was blown away to find he was making more power with less boost pressure than his previous setup! When all was said and done, Phil’s Cobra laid down 631 Horsepower & 529 Lbs. of Torque at only 14psi.
Phil says “I’m very happy with the 3.3L and would recommend it to anyone. I will get a smaller pulley later on for 20# + and get a c16 tune but 631/519 is a ton of power at only 14psi. This blower has a ton of potential!”
Phil wants to give a big thanks to Greg and RET, Vortech/Lysholm, and everyone at GTR High Performance!
