R.M.C.R. Performance + Lysholm Boosted Camaro SS + Cam & Custom Tune = 621/622 At The Wheels!

The rockstars at Rocky Mountain Competitive Research are at it again. This time, they took their customer Dustin’s Lysholm Supercharged Camaro SS and cranked it up to an amazingly impressive 621 rear wheel horsepower and 622 rear wheel torque!

This same Lysholm 2.3L Twin-Screw Supercharged Camaro that drew lots of attention in the Vortech/Lysholm/R.M.C.R. booth at Camaro5Fest II, is now breathing a lot more fire thanks to the addition of an R.M.C.R. Custom Grind Camshaft, 3.00″ Supercharger Pulley, ARH 1 7/8″ Long Tube Headers, a Borla Attak Exhaust, and custom tuning from R.M.C.R.Already happy with the performance of his S/C’d SS, now Dustin is ecstatic about his new and improved beast. “This car is a whole different animal now!”

Want to transform your new SS into a street bruiser or a sinister sleeper? Maybe it’s time to give Lysholm Twin-Screw Superchargers a try.

For more information, contact R.M.C.R. or Lysholm Superchargers.

Lysholm, Vortech, and R.M.C.R. Hit Firebird Raceway For Camaro5Fest II…

Vortech ventured out to Firebird International Raceway in Arizona for the 2nd Annual gathering of 5th generation Camaros, dubbed Camaro5Fest II. Joining forces with Rocky Mountain Competitive Research, our Top Tier Dealer/Installer from Colorado Springs, CO, we hit the track in good spirits ready for a good time…and the C5 crew did not disappoint!

RMCR put together this sick Vortech Centrifugal System on a display engine to really give the crowd a good look at what the kit looks like up close & personal. It helped to show how the Vortech intercooler is over twice the size of what the competitors use.
R.M.C.R. customer Dustin had his Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharging System installed just in time for Camaro5Fest. He couldn’t stop talking about how happy he was with his choice. The Lysholm System is a great choice for all gen. 5 Camaro owners who want to go the positive displacement route!.The 530rwhp and 516rwtq this 2.3L Twin-Screw Supercharger made on an otherwise virtually stock Camaro SS puts many of the other competitor’s offerings out there to shame!Gary Shellum, or 1RADCAMARO on Camaro5, had his gorgeous Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharged SS Camaro all over the show! We saw it on the track, on display, in the Air Lift booth, in the US Wheels booth, and all over the place! Thanks for coming out and representing Gary!.
This stock looking SS is what you would call a SLEEPER. While unassuming on the outside, this beast sports an R.M.C.R. built LSX 427 engine with Callies internals, Diamond Pistons, cnc ported heads, custom camshaft, FAST 102mm intake manifold, Nick Williams 102mm throttle body, Katech carbon valve covers, Stainless Works 2″ Headers and 3″ exhaust, Fore Precision triple 255lph pump setup, BMR subframes, sway bars, trailing arms, toe rods, strut tower brace, KW coilovers, AP Racing J-hook brake rotors, a DSS 9″ rearend conversion with Moser aluminum center section, and to top it all off…a cog-driven Vortech V-7 YSi-Trim Supercharging System. Although the guys from R.M.C.R. didn’t quite finish tuning it before they had to leave for the event, it still wore a dyno sheet showing it put down over 919rwhp through its heavy duty 9″ rear end. That’s nearly 1,100 horsepower at the crank! Also in the sleeper department, this 700+ horsepower Tahoe was in the Vortech/R.M.C.R booth showing more of what the R.M.C.R. guys do best – make things really fast! Sporting a built engine and a Vortech V-7 YSi-Trim Supercharger and Air-to-Water Power Cooler, the owner claims he built it to destroy Porsche Cayenne Turbos. When asked how this unassuming silver SUV does in that endeavor, he simply replied “It works!”.The famous Guillermo Garcia, or Tribone as he is known as on Camaro5, brought out his Vortech V-3 Supercharged black beauty, and had it displayed prominently in the US Wheels booth. Running himself ragged as one of the event organizers, we saw him hurriedly speeding here and there throughout the entire event. Hope you had some time to relax once it was all over, G!Dave Christensen (d69chris) and his customized Inferno Orange Metallic SS took full advantage of the show. When he wasn’t racing the car on the track, Dave was showing off his V-3 Si-Trim Supercharged ride in the SoCal section of the car show area. We hear Dave also won the prize for “best exterior”. Great job Dave, but you know us…we are usually more partial to what you’ve got under the hood..
We found Andrew M’s (shevyman) Vortech Supercharged Hot Wheels Camaro sittin’ low in the Air Lift Booth. From the looks of it, he hadn’t anticipated us asking to lift the hood for photos. C’mon Andrew…it’s a CAR SHOW. You can’t just clean the outside of your car! Here are some other great pictures from the event for you to enjoy.
Although not Supercharged, this tribute Camaro was definitely worth checking out. Not only does it honor our country, but the amount of hours in airbrushing alone this must have taken is truly amazing!

Thank you to Camaro5, R.M.C.R., Tribone, d69chris, 1RADCAMARO, shevyman, Mike, Mark, Zack, Keith, Don, Colin, Dustin, and everyone else in attendance. We’ll see you next year!

STS808 Brings The Boost To A Bagged & Customized Chevy

James Smith, or “Smitty” as he is more commonly known, and his shop STS808 in Kapolei, Hawaii built this 2011 4.8L Silverado LS to show off some of the many things they can do. Although still a work in progress, this bagged and Supercharged ride may be just the thing to go rolling around paradise in style.
Under the hood, the most prominent addition to the factory 4.8L Chevy engine is definitely the Lysholm 2300AX Supercharging System. Along with the boost, Smitty added a Ligenfelter 160° thermostat, NGK TR6 spark plugs, and a set of Spintech mufflers out back. This combination was good for a base tune result of 404RWHP and 400RWTQ! Smitty says a set of long tube headers and a retune are in the truck’s near future for even more power and torque. To get this GM Full Size sitting low, a list of suspension parts were thrown at it, including a Ekstensive front control arm kit with Monroe Sensa Track Corvette shocks, Ekstensive Rear 2-link and notch With Monroe Mono-Tube shocks, 4 – 2600 lb bags, 8 – SMC 1/2″ valves, 2 – SMC Air dryers, 2 – 5 gallon tanks, 2 – VIAR 444 compressors, AVS billet digital gauge, AVS billet switch box, Narrowed 4 inch rear end.
The modifications to the body include a Stylin’ Trucks Rear Rollpan, Carriage Works black billet upper and lower grills, mono-chromed grill and front bumper, shaved tailgate with Sir Michaels handle relocator, Tubbed bed and notch cover, Spray lined bed, an Undercover bed cover, and the truck rolls around on a set of 22″ Intro Radicalli’s for now, with a new set of 24″ Intro Radicalli’s on order.

In the electronics department, Smitty installed 2 Stinger 2250 amp dry cell batteries, Stinger Alternator, Kenwood Excelon DDX 896 head unit, Samsung Slide 7 (for center console will run HPtuner gauges), 2 Galaxy Tabs in the headrests, 3 Phoenix Gold Ti2500 amps, 2 Phoenix Gold Ti 800.4 amps, 4 Phoenix Gold Ti65 component speakers, 6 Phoenix Gold TI212 12″ subs, with a blow through sub enclosure in the bed.

The truck is almost 4 months old and Smitty says there is still “so much more to complete!” Check out the custom US Postal Service temporary gauge pod Smitty put in while the truck was being tuned…

GTR High Performance Open House & Dyno Day…

GTR High Performance has one of the most loyal customer bases in Southern California, and it is no surprise as to why. Starting out as a Mustang specialty shop, GTR has consistently grown over the years to today, where they work on most popular performance vehicles in their 8,500 square foot facility in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. A family run operation, GTR is owned and operated by brothers Gonzalo & Ricardo Topete, and are frequently described as 2 of the nicest guys in the industry. Always preforming quality work, always willing to go the extra mile, always willing to help out a customer in need…GTR is more than a shop to much of their clientele. That is why it is no surprise that when GTR has their annual open house, the turnout is always large, and it always makes for a fun day.

Air Power Group brands Vortech Superchargers, Paxton Automotive, and Lysholm Twin-Screw came out to represent their products , and support GTR High Performance as a Dealer and Top Tier Installation facility for everything they have to offer. Here are some pictures and video from the event.

Fresh from the SEMA show, Vortech brought out the same Race Red 2011 5.0L Mustang GT that was one of the highlights of their booth.

Vortech’s 20th Anniversary Black Edition Supercharging System carries this car’s black & red color scheme under the hood.

Also just back from SEMA, the WD40 Mustang was showing off the new Paxton 2011 5.0L Supercharging System with NOVI 2200 Supercharger and air-to-air intercooler.

Phil Dore from Magnaflow Exhaust brought out his monster Terminator Cobra with 3.3L Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharger package. In addition to looking great, his car won the dyno competition, laying down over 628rwhp on GTR’s Dynojet!

Speedfactory’s Vortech Supercharged 5.7L Challenger R/T got the MOPAR fans in attendance excited about supercharging their rides.

Daniel Velarde’s Paxton NOVI 2200 Supercharged “Body Ink” Mustang GT was looking great as the main feature in the TruFiber booth.

Eddie Garcia’s Saleen S351 is always a treat to check out, and today was no different.

Rob Estell’s S197 GT is Paxton NOVI 2200 Supercharged and intercooled…and HOT!

Steve Mizell’s Vortech/A&A Corvette Supercharged C5 Z06 Corvette put down the 2nd highest # of the day in the dyno competition – 585RWHP!

Gonzalo Topete’s Mustang GT is one of the GTR shop cars they use to showcase the parts that they sell & install.

Brian Ellis & Erica Gordon’s Vortech V-Power Supercharged S197 was looking sharp as usual.

Dan Ellebracht’s PSCA-prepped Fox Body is NOVI 2000 equipped and ready to make some serious power! Look for him to begin competing next season!

Thanks to GTR High Performance and their customers for a good day. We are already looking forward to next year!

Lysholm Video Of The Week – Tim From Modular Depot’s GT500 Makes 717RWHP With Lysholm 3.3L…

Tim from Modular Depot’s GT500 is making colossal power these days thanks to his Lysholm 3.3L Supercharging System, Kooks Headers, and Ford Racing Axle Back Exhaust.

717RWHP and 672RWTQ!

Phil From Magnaflow’s Terminator Cobra Makes More Power With Less Boost After Upgrading To Lysholm Twin-Screw Power…

Phil Dore, Product Manager for Magnaflow Exhaust is no stranger to aftermarket products that work. When it came time to buy a project car, Phil knew that a Terminator Cobra would be a great choice to not only use to showcase the great products that his company makes, but also to reach all of his personal horsepower and performance goals. After maxing out the factory Eaton Blower, Phil upgraded his blower to a competitor’s unit in his quest for more power. However, after suffering a blower failure, Phil turned to his friends at Vortech & GTR High Performance to try out their new Lysholm Twin-Screw 3.3L Supercharger Upgrade System.
Hoping to make similar power as his previous system with the potential to go for more at a later date, the new 3.3L Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharger Upgrade System was more than up to the task, capable of supporting 800+ horsepower at over 25psi. After getting the install done at GTR, Phil brought his Terminator to Racer’s Edge Tuning for a custom dyno tune on their 224x Dynojet chassis dyno. Having made a respectable 575/490 at 16.5psi before his Lysholm upgrade, Phil was blown away to find he was making more power with less boost pressure than his previous setup! When all was said and done, Phil’s Cobra laid down 631 Horsepower & 529 Lbs. of Torque at only 14psi.

Phil says “I’m very happy with the 3.3L and would recommend it to anyone. I will get a smaller pulley later on for 20# + and get a c16 tune but 631/519 is a ton of power at only 14psi. This blower has a ton of potential!”

Phil wants to give a big thanks to Greg and RET, Vortech/Lysholm, and everyone at GTR High Performance!

GTR High Performance Puts The Screws To Their 5.3L Tahoe…

After seeing the power and torque that previous Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharged GM Trucks put down on their dyno, Gonzalo from GTR High Performance decided that he had to have the same system on his own 2007 Tahoe. The Lysholm 2.3L Supercharging System comes complete, and makes ~7.5-8psi on an otherwise stock GM Truck/SUV.

The “before” dyno showing 262rwhp is with a Gibson cat back exhaust and a K&N cold air induction kit. The “after” dyno shows significant boosted power and torque, gaining an additional 132rwhp and 118rwtq, for a final boosted showing of 394rwhp and 400rwtq. Stock engine, 91 octane pump gas, with a conservative, daily drivable tune.

GTR High Performance gives an ’08 GMC some Lysholm Twin-Screw Power…

GTR High Performance is a well known performance parts sales and installation center located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Being family owned and operated for over 13 years by brothers Gonzalo and Ricardo Topete, they have earned a devoted following that bring a variety of vehicles their way to modify and improve on a regular basis. In this case, when a customer brought in his 2008 GMC Sierra for some additional power gains, the boys knew exactly who to call. Having a long standing relationship with both Vortech and Paxton Superchargers, the guys at GTR couldn’t wait to try out a system from the company’s newest brand – Lysholm Twin-Screw. They picked up the phone and had a 2.3L Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharging System ordered up straight away. The 2.3L system comes complete with everything you see here.

The results speak for themselves.

That’s right folks, nearly 140 Horsepower and 123 lb. Ft. Torque gain at the rear wheels. Stock engine, Flowmaster cat-back exhaust, 91 octane pump gas, with a conservative, daily drivable tune. The guys at GTR liked the Lysholm System so much, they ordered one of the 2.3L systems up for their own 2007 Chevy Tahoe! Interested in getting some Lysholm Twin-Screw boost on your 5.3L Chevy/GMC? Lysholm GT500 Systems Putting Down Impressive Pump Gas Numbers All Around The U.S.A.

As the Lysholm Twin Screw Supercharging Systems for the Shelby GT500 are making their way into the hands of eagerly waiting enthusiasts, we are hearing nothing but good news from everyone about this unbelievable package!

Designed as a direct replacement for the smaller, less efficient factory compressor, the Lysholm 3300AX Twin Screw Supercharger will provide sizable gains whether your goal is a street brawler or a track monster!

Murillo Motorsports in San Antonio, Texas has been famous in the Mustang world for years. Owned and operated by famous drag racer and tuner Mike Murillo, these guys can help you reach any performance goal your heart desires. Their first opportunity to utilize the Lysholm Twin Screw on a GT500 was on this Torch Red beauty with white stripes.

The Lysholm 3300AX with a 4.0″ supercharger pulley and a JLT cold air inlet, combined with Bassani headers, X-Pipe, and exhaust, dual Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pumps, a Murillo Motorsports Aluminum Driveshaft, and a custom tune by Mike Murillo himself laid down 669rwhp and 610rwtq on Murillo’s MD-1750 Eddy Current Mustang Dynamometer on pump gas with a steady 11.8:1 air/fuel ratio.

Carlos C. from Southern California was one of the very first GT500 owners to receive the Lysholm Twin-Screw treatment on his black convertible beast. Having been tested at several power levels including a race gas tune that made over 712rwhp, today Carlos tears up the streets of SoCal with a 91 octane pump gas tune that produces 664rwhp and 595rwtq at 15psi.

In addition to the Lysholm 3300AX compressor upgrade, Carlos is also rocking the Vortech Maxflow carbon air inlet, Vortech monoblade throttle body, 123mm MAF housing, American Racing Headers 1 7/8″ long tube headers, 3″ Magnaflow exhaust, dual Boost-A-Pumps and a custom Diablosport tune.

A Shelby enthusiast from North Carolina, Luis V. sent us an email letting us know that his Shelby made 658rwhp on his local dyno after installing the Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharging System, Vortech Maxflow throttle body and carbon CAI, and he included these pictures showing how sweet the TruFiber Ram Air Hood looks that he got to go with it. We would love some additional information on your Shelby Luis…please get in touch with us when you can!

Synonymous with Mustang performance in Southern California, Extreme Automotive has a plethora of satisfied customers ready and willing to sing their praises. From a simple blower install, to a complete high horsepower engine build, Extreme Automotive can certainly get the job done. These days, Extreme’s owner Sean Roberts stalks the streets of the San Fernando Valley with this gorgeous Torch Red GT500.

Along with the Lysholm 3.3L Twin-Screw Supercharging system, Sean’s ride is armed with Kooks 1 3/4″ long tube headers and 2 1/2″ exhaust, Vortech Maxflow carbon fiber air inlet, 123mm MAF housing, Vortech monoblade throttle body, dual Kenne Bell Boost-A-Pumps, and a custom Diablosport pump gas tune. On Extreme’s own Dynapak 4000 Dynamometer, Sean’s car produced 665rwhp and 594rwtq at 15psi

Pete Espeut from Espeut Performance is the proud owner of the very first Lysholm Twin-Screw to be installed on a 2010 GT500, and he means business with it. To date, this menacing black beast has put 678rwhp and 647rwtq to the rollers on the Dynojet, and he is hoping to hurt a lot of feelings on the track soon once he gets the suspension dialed in and a cage put into the car.

So, the consensus is in…the Lysholm GT500 Supercharging Systems are a great upgrade for anyone that wants to raise the power output of their Shelby. When it comes to fit & finish, design, and ease of installation, not to mention appearance and efficiency…you can’t go wrong with Lysholm Twin-Screw technology. Don’t be the last GT500 owner in your area to make the switch to Lysholm Twin-Screw POWER!!!

R.M.C.R. in Colorado Installs 1st 2010 Silverado 5.3L System With Fantastic Results…

Rocky Mountain Competitive Research (or R.M.C.R. for short) in Colorado Springs installed their first Lysholm Twin-Screw system on a 2010 5.3L Chevy Silverado 4×4 with impressive results. “This Lysholm system is better than any other positive displacement kit we’ve ever installed” says R.M.C.R.’s Mike Wendling. “The completeness of it, the quality of the parts, and the way the system comes practically pre-assembled right out of the box was very impressive.”

The 2010 5.3L 4×4 was sold through Laramie GM Auto Center in Wyoming and brought to R.M.C.R. for custom dyno tuning with only 3 miles on the odometer. The results were an impressive 346rwhp and 408rwtq at 6psi on R.M.C.R’s Dynojet 224X chassis dyno.

The Lysholm Twin-Screw Supercharging System includes the 2300AX compressor with integrated bypass valve and actuator, cast aluminum air inlet manifold and ducting, air-to-water charge cooler, all necessary hardware, and fuel system upgrades including fuel rails and injectors.
